This
event will bring participants from around the country to compete in two
spectacular races on either Stand Up Paddleboards or traditional prone
paddleboards. Both these races are sanctioned by the World Paddle Association
(WPA) and will help determine the NW Regional Champions.
The classic ocean race is an 8 mile, north to south downwind course
around Yaquina Head. The start will be at Otter Rock and the finish at Nye
Beach in Newport. Racers will paddle through surf, then downwind off the
beautiful Oregon shore. The
finish will be through the surf at historic Nye Beach in Newport.

The flat water race will be on the alternate day and starts in Newport
Bay, just off the Mark Hatfield Marine Science Center. Participants in this
race will travel roughly 7.5 miles up the estuary to the finish at the Toledo
paddle park. Prevalent NW winds will
be at the racers back.
