Board Name: Aquaglide
Manufacturer: Amundson
Length: 11′3” Width: 29.5″ Volume: 160L Weight: 29 lbs.
Weight Range: 70-220 lbs. Skill: Beginner to advanced

An excellent beginner board with high initial stability. At 29 pounds it’s on the heavy end for a board this size, and to some degree that accounts for it’s high ranking in glide and maintaining speed between strokes. The full deck pad was a plus to most evaluators though some prefer the look of a partial pad.

Evaluators said:
“Felt solid and predictable” (Beginner Male, 250 lbs.)
“Stable and good glide, but heavy.” (Intermediate Male, 190 lbs.)
“Better than I expected–good intermediate board” (Intermediate Male, 160 lbs.)
“great initial stability, easy catch” (Beginner Male, 260 lbs.)
“Better in waves than I expected”
“Stable; turns easy for it’s size” (Advanced Male, 270 lbs.)

Summary: A good first-timer board that is stable, paddles and cruises well, and surfs well for it’s size and weight. Has a mast track with a handle in it. It’s not pretty but it looks bulletproof.

This board is the perfect example of a good board being downrated because of it’s looks. This board is a little bland looking, but it’s specifications and design indicate it should be a good performer. People were “surprised that it surfed as well as it did” and called it “better than they expected” but the only performance cue that could set those expectations was the appearance.
