Board Name: Ku Nalu

Length: 12’2″  Width: 26 3/4″  Volume: Weight: 26lbs.
Weight Range: 100-190lbs.  Skill: Beginner to Advanced

Evaluators said:
“Like the padded deck and the carry handle”
“Light, stable for width, great pad”
“Hollow construction feels good; seems like a downwind board; tippy and slow to turn”  (Intermediate Male)
“Fast (very), caught swells well, paddles straight and true”  (Intermediate Female 115 lbs.)
“Smooth, best sailing longboard on earth (I can say this because I have used this board for wavesailing), smooth turns”  (Advanced Male 170 lbs.)

Summary: An enduring design because of it’s speed and surf-ability. The starboard 12-2 is based on this board. The narrow width makes it challenging for a beginner but it’s a very fast board. Riders rated it good for surfing, light and middleweight riders rated or highly for speed and cruising.

Thanks for showing us the board top, George.

Personal note: My first standup board was a Ku Nalu that I waited six months for. A 245 pound beginner CAN learn on this board, but they will have to be persistent. I had my doubts that I could ever do it, but finally was able to stand and paddle. I can also attest to Giampaolo’s evaluation comment about wavesailing–the Ku Nalu is extremely good as a light wind wavesailer.
