Report

Ke Nalu is devoted to Stand Up Paddle Surfing and related or derivative sports such as longbooard wavesailing and flatwater touring on SUP boards. Most of the content comes from your contributions–your willingness to share your ideas, experience, photos, and videos about SUP.

What To Write About

We want informative articles about things you are passionate about. If you’ve found a better way to get through shorebreak, tell us about it. Shot some great photos–share them with us. We’d love stories about your local SUP scene, interviews with local personalities, events you’ve attended, boards, paddles and other equipment you’ve tried, modifications to your equipment, tips on how to be a better SUP paddler or surfer. We’re even into fiction–who knows, you might be the Hemingway of SUP.

You don’t have to be a great writer to contribute articles, we’ll edit and polish your work and make certain you look brilliant, And of course you’ll get a byline. Of course it’s helpful if you follow our house styleguide

It’s great if you have some photos to go along with the story, but not completely necessary. Photos should be 1024 by 768 (or thereabouts) in size and JPEG format. They can be either horizontal or vertical formats. If you’d like a few tips on composing shots click here. All the photos on Ke Nalu are lightboxed–that means if you click on a photo it expands to full size.

Short articles or descriptions of photos can be pasted or typed into the comments box. Longer stories can be uploaded using the photo submission system below. It will accept .TXT files.

The easiest way to submit videos is to upload them to You Tube or Google and send us the embedding link. If you don’t want to do that you can send us the files, but drop us a note first (you can use the photo submission system to send a note) and we’ll help you with that, the file sizes can get pretty large.

If you’d like to be a regular contributor, register, then drop us a line and we’ll set up authoring privileges so you can create your own articles and upload your photos. We retain the right to edit and modify your articles, but it’s an easy and convenient way to create your own articles. We’ll also provide frequent contributors with Ke Nalu media credentials, which you might find handy for gaining access to events or getting preferred positions for photography.
